Job summary

Netbox Recruitment Ltd is helping a Kent-based manufacturer recruit a Carpenter/Joiner to join their workshop production team assembling timber door sets. Location: Sidcup, Kent. Salary: Up to £46,000 DOE. This permanent, full-time role offers a stable workshop environment and opportunities for development.

You will work with a team to prepare doors, read drawings, and ensure high-quality finishes using hand and power tools, with a strong emphasis on safety and craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in carpentry, joinery, woodworking or similar trade.
• Confident using woodworking hand and power tools.
• Able to measure accurately and work from drawings or detailed instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious.
• Experience with timber door sets or ironmongery is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and prepare timber door sets to specification.
• Route and prepare doors for hinges, locks, keeps, vision panels and other ironmongery.
• Use woodworking hand and power tools, including routers, chisels and drills.
• Measure, mark out and prepare timber accurately.
• Read and work from technical drawings and specifications.
• Carry out quality checks and ensure finished products meet required standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Work as part of a team to meet production targets.

The Role

Are you a Carpenter, Joiner, Woodworker or skilled woodworking professional looking for a permanent, workshop-based role?

Our client is a successful international manufacturer seeking an experienced Carpenter / Joiner to join their production team, assembling and preparing high-quality timber door sets.

You don't need previous manufacturing experience. Candidates from carpentry, joinery, shopfitting, furniture making, cabinet making, kitchen fitting or similar woodworking backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
