Job summary

Hawk Hiring is recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician / Motor Mechanic to join a friendly, independent garage in Sheerness. You'll service, maintain and repair a wide range of vehicles in a trusted, supportive workshop environment.

Expect no dealership pressure, with a £50,000 basic salary, Monday–Friday hours and a fair Saturday rota. You’ll work with a team that values quality workmanship and long-term stability.

Qualifications

• Experience as Vehicle Technician, Motor Mechanic or Automotive Technician.
• Level 3 NVQ in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair preferred.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

The Role

You'll be joining an experienced workshop team carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs across a wide range of vehicles.

This is a hands-on role for a technician who enjoys diagnosing problems, fixing vehicles properly and taking pride in their workmanship.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Vehicle servicing and routine maintenance
• Mechanical repairs
• Electrical repairs
• Diagnostics and fault finding
• MOT preparation and associated repairs
• Identifying faults and carrying out effective repairs
• Completing work efficiently and to a high standard
• Working safely and professionally
• Working as part of a friendly and experienced team

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician / Motor Mechanic who wants a stable, long-term position with a good local business.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Motor Mechanic or Automotive Technician
• Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair – preferred
• Strong mechanical knowledge
• Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• A full UK driving licence
• A reliable and positive attitude
• Pride in your workmanship
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

MOT Tester qualification is an advantage but is not essential.
