Hawk Hiring is helping a well established, family-run independent garage in Sheerness recruit an experienced Vehicle Technician / Motor Mechanic. You will join a friendly team to service, diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicles.

The role offers £50,000 basic salary, Monday to Friday with a fair Saturday rota, on-site parking and a supportive, low-pressure workshop environment where quality workmanship is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience as Vehicle Technician, Motor Mechanic or Automotive Technician.
• Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair preferred.
• Full UK driving licence.

The Role

You’ll be joining an experienced workshop team carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs across a wide range of vehicles.

This is a hands‑on role for a technician who enjoys diagnosing problems, fixing vehicles properly and taking pride in their workmanship.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Vehicle servicing and routine maintenance
• Mechanical repairs

• MOT preparation and associated repairs
• Identifying faults and carrying out effective repairs

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician / Motor Mechanic who wants a stable, long-term position with a good local business.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Motor Mechanic or Automotive Technician
• Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair – preferred
• Strong mechanical knowledge
• Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• A full UK driving licence
• A reliable and positive attitude
• Pride in your workmanship
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

MOT Tester qualification is an advantage but is not essential.
