Job summary

Northern is seeking a Qualified Train Driver to join our North West network. You will operate trains, ensuring safety and punctuality while working with conductors, dispatch and control teams to deliver a reliable passenger service.

You will hold a valid Train Drivers License, have at least two years of Network Rail driving experience, and be prepared to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays. Competitive salary and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Valid Train Drivers License with no endorsements.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience driving on Network Rail Infrastructure with proof of TDLCR.
• Home address within a 45-minute drive of the station you apply for.
• Two years of continuous competence with no prolonged breaks.

Responsibilities

• Operate trains safely and efficiently while adhering to timetables.
• Ensure safety compliance with signaling, speeds and track conditions.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and report issues.
• Maintain clear communication with control centres and other staff.
