Job summary

Woodlands Home & Garden Group in Rodley, Leeds is seeking an Experienced Timber Machinist to join our mill team. The role focuses on producing accurately machined timber for garden-building production, while upholding safety, quality and productivity.

You will set and operate timber mill moulders, adjust tooling, and inspect finished timber for defects. We offer a competitive salary, 28 days holiday, annual bonus, training, cycle-to-work, parking and on-site canteen.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm or 9:30am to 6:00pm

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Timber Machinist to join our timber mill team. This is a skilled role producing accurately machined timber for our garden-building production departments while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate timber mill moulders.
• Select, fit and adjust tooling safely and accurately.
• Machine timber to the required measurements and profiles.
• Complete machine adjustments, product changeovers and routine checks.
• Inspect finished timber for quality and accuracy.
• Identify defects and resolve machining issues.
• Follow production plans and meet agreed output requirements.
• Keep the timber mill clean, organised and safe.

What We Are Looking For

• Previous experience as a Timber Machinist or Wood Machinist.
• Confidence setting and operating timber mill moulders.
• Good knowledge of timber, tooling and machining processes.
• Ability to work accurately from measurements and specifications.
• Strong awareness of machine safety.
• A reliable, practical and quality-focused approach.
• Forklift truck or side-loader experience would be useful but is not essential.
