Coventry City Council is hiring a Teaching Assistant for John Gulson Primary School in Coventry (CV1 4HB). The role is term-time only with a 35-hour week, assisting Year 3 and Year 4 pupils and supporting learning under teacher guidance.

You will deliver small group interventions, monitor progress, and help create an inclusive, safe classroom environment, with strong emphasis on safeguarding and welfare.

Qualifications

• Experience of, or strong knowledge of, the Year 3 and Year 4 national curriculum.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or 4 or above, or equivalent qualifications, and a high standard of spoken and written English.
• A calm, proactive and flexible colleague who builds positive relationships with children, families and staff.
• A strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and helping every child achieve and thrive.

Responsabilités

• Support teaching and learning in a Year 3 or Year 4 classroom, adapting your approach to pupils’ needs.
• Lead small group interventions and provide individual support, using teacher guidance and assessment to help pupils progress.
• Build positive relationships and contribute to a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom.
• Observe and record learning, sharing useful feedback with the class teacher and working collaboratively with colleagues.
