Job summary

Stellar Select Limited is seeking an experienced Residential Mortgage Underwriter in Watford to join a specialist intermediary lender. The role requires strong manual underwriting experience and the ability to assess affordability and credit risk within defined policy and FCA guidelines.

You will manage a busy pipeline, liaise with brokers and maintain accurate case records while ensuring timely progression and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong manual underwriting experience within a mortgage lender or broker environment.
• Experience underwriting second charge and residential mortgage applications with solid lending judgement.
• Good understanding of FCA regulation, responsible lending and risk requirements, with meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite applications in line with company policy, criteria and risk appetite.
• Assess borrower circumstances, affordability, documentation and overall credit risk.
• Manage a pipeline of cases from application through to completion and provide updates to brokers.
