Job summary

West One Loans is seeking an experienced mortgage underwriter in Watford to join our team. You will assess applications, enter and update borrower data on the Fusion lending platform, and ensure each case meets underwriting guidelines.

The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication with brokers, and the ability to work to deadlines while complying with FCA regulations. CeMAP is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Understanding of FCA regulation and underwriting guidelines.
• Experience underwriting 1st and/or 2nd Charge mortgage applications.
• CeMAP is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Enter and update borrower data on Fusion lending platform.
• Ensure all aspects of the loans are recorded accurately on Fusion.
• Carry out mortgage application assessments to meet underwriting criteria.
• Provide concise updates to brokers and chase outstanding requirements.
• Ensure underwriting aligns with policy and regulatory requirements.
