Job description

Russell St Group Practice is a thriving GP Practice based near Reading Town Centre. The Practice has three sites with a registered patient population of 9,000.

Currently we are seeking an experienced Practice Manager who will oversee the day to day running of the Practice. The Practice comprises of a friendly team of clinical staff and admin staff. You will be supported by three GP Partners.

The location of the Practice is commutable both by bus and is within walking distance from Reading Town Centre.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role is to oversee the day-to-day administrative and operational aspects of the practice. To manage and coordinate all aspects of organisation and its functionality. To provide a high-quality service and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Effective communication and collaboration with healthcare providers and administrative staff are crucial. Motivating and managing staff and optimising efficiency. Additionally, you'll oversee the operational efficiency and patient experience. Overall, the role is vital in maintaining the smooth operation of the practice and facilitating the delivery of high-quality patient care in a safe and effective working environment.

Main role would be CQC management and you would be responsible for service improvement and the delivery of clinical and administrative areas in the practice.

Job responsibilities

The role of an Practice Manager will be to oversee the day to day functions of the Practice. This will encompass managing reception staff and patient complaints. Ensuring all health and safety protocols are in place. Overseeing staff holidays and rota's, recording sick leave and conducting return to work interviews. Part of the role will also include ensuring all tasks on Emis are managed effectively. Other areas will also take into account managing QOF and service delivery. We are seeking a candidate who has previously worked in a GP surgery as a Practice Manager.

Person Specification
IT Skills
  • Previous experience in delivering patient care.
  • Good IT skills and interpersonal and good leadership skills.
  • 1)CQC knowledge
  • 2)Working in a clinical environment and primary care set up.
Qualifications
  • GCSE, or equivalent is essential
  • A-Levels
Experience
  • We would prefer for the candidate to have experience in primary care and specifically GP surgery as a Practice Manager with day to day running of the practice.
  • Staff Management
  • HR background would be desirable.
  • Experience of working in primary care at Management level.
  • Previous experience of managing a GP practice is very desirable
  • Knowledge about PCN, ICB, QOF, IIF targets, Managing Practice finances would be desirable.
Experienced Practice manager
  • 1) Previous experience as a practice manager, preferably.
  • 2)Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • 3) Good Leadership skills
  • 4) Be flexible with working hours.
  • 1) Very good IT skills
