Job summary

Edwards & Pearce Ltd. seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a large-scale UK refinery, focusing on long-term reliability and equipment enhancement.

You will support refinery operations, drive uptime improvements, and contribute to capital projects within a safety-focused, 24/7 environment. The role includes technical guidance, troubleshooting, and leading small projects up to £250k with purchasing authority up to £750k, while collaborating across engineering disciplines to maintain

Qualifications

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Chartered status or working towards Chartered status
• Strong engineering/technical knowledge and problem-solving skills
• Experience in rotating equipment and refinery environments
• Excellent communication and safety awareness

Responsibilities

• Focus on long-term reliability improvements and equipment enhancements
• Define repairs for shutdowns to maximise upcoming mission time
• Provide technical support for operations and capital projects
• Evaluate degradation mechanisms and fitness-for-service calculations
• Lead small projects up to £250k and specify/purchase equipment up to £750k
• Collaborate with other departments in a 24/7 refinery
