Torftech is a design engineering and intellectual property business specializing in licensing and selling proprietary TORBED and TORWAVE processors (www.torftech.com). These devices are widely used in the food, mineral, and waste industries for processes such as gas scrubbing and calcination. They are designed to enhance process efficiency through gas-solid contact, overcoming traditional obstacles and facilitating hydrocarbon substitution, waste recycling, and energy efficiency. Our small, close-knit team values curiosity and intellectual rigor. As our business expands, we seek to hire an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to succeed our current engineer nearing retirement. The role involves working independently on conceptual design, detailed drawings, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of high-temperature industrial process plant and materials handling systems, including refractory design. Key responsibilities include CAD design using Inventor, reviewing manufacturing drawings, fault diagnosis, implementing maintenance, conducting tests, managing the engineering function, liaising with suppliers, and supporting procurement. Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in high-temperature industrial processes, relevant qualifications, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to work remotely. All necessary UK residence and work permits are required.
