Job Title: Experienced Maths and English Tutor
Location: GCSE Level, London
Contract Type: Temporary
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Flexible, Part-Time (1-30 hours per week)
Pay Rate: Starting at £25/hour (based on experience and qualifications)

About the Role

As an experienced tutor, you will deliver tailored lessons in Maths and English , addressing the specific needs of GCSE students. Your expertise will play a vital role in supporting learners to overcome challenges, bridge learning gaps, and build their confidence. Working with students who may have SEN, you will create a positive, nurturing environment where they can thrive.

This role offers flexible part-time hours, giving you the freedom to set your schedule and balance your commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one tutoring in Maths and English , focusing on GCSE-level content.
  • Develop and deliver personalised lesson plans to meet each student’s unique needs.
  • Support students with SEN , adapting teaching methods to suit their learning styles.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to parents or guardians.
  • Foster a motivating and encouraging learning environment to boost student confidence.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience in Maths and/or English.
  • Extensive experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) .
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).

Desired Qualities

  • PGCE in Maths or English or QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) (highly desirable).
  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with students and parents effectively.
