Job summary

Draper & Nichols Ltd, an established Norwich-based building contractor, seeks an Experienced Maintenance Carpenter to perform repairs, refurbishments, and installations in occupied and vacant properties. You will plan work, select materials and execute high-quality timber work across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Responsibilities include fitting doors, windows, skirting and flooring, reading drawings, and ensuring safety on site. Valid carpentry qualifications and a full driving license are required.

Qualifications

• Strong practical carpentry skills across maintenance, repairs and refurbishments.
• Proficient in using hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Experience with framing and structural timber work for repairs or small-scale construction.
• Finish carpentry skills including fitting doors, skirting and internal finishes.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Full driving license and willingness to travel to sites in Norfolk and Suffolk.

Role Description The Experienced Maintenance Carpenter will be responsible for carrying out a variety of carpentry tasks, including repairs, refurbishments, and installations in occupied and vacant properties. Day-to-day activities include assessing maintenance requirements, planning work, selecting appropriate materials, and completing tasks such as fitting doors, windows, skirting, flooring, and other timber components to a high standard. The role also involves working safely with hand tools and power tools, interpreting drawings, collaborating with other trades, and communicating clearly with site supervisors and clients when required. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Norwich, with work carried out at client locations throughout Norfolk and Suffolk.
Qualifications

• Strong practical Carpentry skills, with experience in general maintenance and repair work.
