Job summary

The Oyster Partnership Ltd is seeking an experienced Food Inspection Officer / Environmental Health Officer to join a busy Local Authority Environmental Health team. You will lead programmed food hygiene inspections, investigations and enforcement across a range of premises.

You will inspect, audit and monitor food businesses in line with legislation and the FSA Code of Practice, investigate complaints, provide advice and determine appropriate enforcement actions where required.

Qualifications

• FSA Food Law Code of Practice competency or Authorised Officer status is required.
• Experience inspecting food hygiene and enforcing breaches is essential.
• Ability to manage and prioritise a caseload across multiple premises.
• Strong knowledge of current food safety legislation and investigations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out programmed food hygiene inspections and investigations.
• Enforce actions as required, including statutory notices and penalties.
• Gather evidence, prepare reports and support any legal proceedings.
