Job summary

First Bus in Dumbarton is seeking an Experienced Bus Driver with a PCV qualification to join our team. You will operate local services, ensuring safety, reliability and punctuality, while delivering excellent customer service to passengers in the community.

This full-time role offers 38 hours per week with a rotating shift pattern across mornings, evenings and weekends, plus a guaranteed contracted schedule to provide certainty in your week.

• Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Proof of Right to Work in the UK.

Experienced Bus Driver (PCV holder) – Dumbarton

£16.03 per hour

Full time - 38 hours per week

£1,500 bonus (£500 paid after 6 months' service and the remaining £1,000 paid after 1 year's service – pro-rata for part time) T&Cs apply

Already a PCV qualified driver? We're looking for drivers to join our team in Dumbarton. If you're already a qualified PCV driver and want a stable role with a welcoming depot, this could be a great opportunity. You'll be driving local bus routes, helping passengers get where they need to be securely and on time.

You’ll earn £16.03 per hour, with the opportunity to boost your earnings through overtime when it's available. This is a full time, permanent role with guaranteed contracted hours, and your shifts will be organised in advance so you know what your working week looks like ahead of time. You’ll work a rotating shift pattern covering mornings, evenings, and weekends, but everything is scheduled to give you as much certainty as possible.

The role

As one of our Bus Drivers, you'll safely operate local bus services, helping people travel to work, school, appointments, and home every day. You'll ensure every journey is safe, reliable, comfortable, and on time while delivering excellent customer service to every passenger. You'll be representing First Bus within your local community and playing an important role in keeping people connected. This is a fulfilling role where professionalism, safety, and a professional attitude make a real difference to the communities you serve.

Shifts are rota-based over 5 days and include early mornings, evenings, and weekends, with schedules provided in advance.
