Experienced Archaeologist role based in Milton Keynes with a salary of £29,844 for a six-month fixed-term contract. Cotswold Archaeology undertakes major heritage projects across England and Wales, offering fieldwork opportunities and away assignments with lodging and subsistence when required.

Roles include mentoring trainees, supervising machine work, and ensuring data quality, with CSCS/PCIfA considerations and a strong health and safety focus.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial archaeology and fieldwork.
• Proven ability in recording data and using GPS survey methods.
• Familiarity with CAT and Genny equipment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to fieldwork projects including excavation, evaluation, and recording.
• Record data using pro-forma sheets, drawings, and photographs per CA procedures.
• Supervise machine excavation and assist in training less experienced staff.
• Maintain safety and quality standards in line with CA policies.
