Job summary

Michael Page is assisting a leading global financial services organisation in London to recruit a Financial Expense Analyst within the finance team. You will gain hands-on experience across expense management, financial reporting, analysis and month-end activities, contributing to a high-performing function.

The role supports hybrid working with a Central London office and offers exposure beyond traditional Accounts Payable responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts payable, employee expenses, or similar finance function preferred.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong Excel skills with proactive problem-solving approach.
• Able to manage time effectively with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Keen to develop analytical, financial and reporting expertise.

Responsibilities

• Review expense data to maintain accurate and complete financial records.
• Prepare regular expense reports for clear visibility of spend.
• Investigate missing, duplicated or incorrect expense information and resolve issues.
• Reconcile expense records against supporting documentation to improve data accuracy.
• Maintain organised expense files and records for straightforward reporting and review.
• Respond to queries on expense data with clear information to colleagues.
• Identify trends and unusual items within expense data to support informed decisions.
• Work with internal teams to gather information needed for timely expense reporting.
• Participate in automation and process improvement initiatives to shape best practice across the function.

Description

• Review expense data to maintain accurate and complete financial records.
• Prepare regular expense reports that give the Accounting & Finance team clear visibility of spend.

Profile

The successful applicant will be:

• Experience within accounts payable, employee expenses or similar finance function is preferable.
• Highly organised, with an excellent attention to detail.
• Has strong excel skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Able to manage their time effectively, with competing priorities and deadlines, within a fast-paced environment.
• Keen to develop their analytical, financial & reporting expertise.
• Educated to degree level in a Finance-related discipline, or possess equivalent experience.
