Job summary

The Science and Industry Museum in Manchester is seeking a Digital Technician on a fixed term contract until August 2028, working 35 hours per week, including regular evenings and weekends. You will maintain exhibitions and help design AV, digital and interactive systems for galleries and events.

You will deliver reliable AV support for live events, set up equipment, assist clients, and maintain high standards of customer service while ensuring safety and inclusion throughout our public spaces.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an AV technician or providing practical AV installation and maintenance to exhibitions, events or theatre productions in public spaces.
• Ability to deliver reliable AV support for live events from planning through execution and provide live audio, video, and lighting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain exhibits and assist in designing AV, digital and interactive systems for galleries and events.
• Provide high-quality AV and technical support for events, including setting up equipment and addressing client questions.
• Collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders and contractors while upholding safety and visitor experience standards.
