Job summary

Hampshire Cultural Trust is seeking an Exhibition Technician to support the construction, delivery and installation of exhibitions across Hampshire. The role involves building cases, framing pictures and installing interactive displays, with maintenance support as needed.

You will need practical skills in woodwork and problem solving, a full driving licence, and the ability to work 2 days per week (Mon-Tue) with potential extra hours in busy periods.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Museum or Exhibition Technician or similar role preferred.
  • Competent in the use of power tools and machinery.
  • Full driving licence and confident in driving a work van.

Responsibilities

  • Construct, deliver, install and maintain exhibitions and displays across Hampshire.
  • Build cases or frame pictures and assist with interactive exhibits.
  • Assist with routine maintenance and setup for new exhibitions.

Salary: £9,800-10,200 per annum (£24,500-£25,500 FTE) Location: Chilcomb, Winchester

Hours: 2 days per week - Monday-Tuesday with the possibility of additional hours in busy periods

Type of Contract: Permanent

Have you got great practical skills in woodwork and problem solving?

As one of our Exhibition Technicians, you’ll be part of the team responsible for the construction and delivery and installation of our exhibitions as well as the regular maintenance of our displays in Museums all over Hampshire. You might be building a case or framing a picture one week and setting up an exhibition with high value objects or designing an interactive exhibit the next.

As well as having excellent technical skills in woodwork or similar you will be a great problem solver with a strong work ethic, and an eye for detail. You will have a full driving licence and be confident in driving our work van.

A bit about you

You will have an appreciation for heritage and culture. Experience as a Museum or Exhibition Technicianor a similar role would be an advantage though not essential. You will becompetent in the use of power toolsand machinery and have a practical can-do attitude.
