About The Role

As an Interactive Exhibit Producer at the Natural History Museum, you will provide client-side expertise, advocacy and quality assurance for interactive exhibits and visitor experiences. You will support the gallery delivery team and work closely with external design partners to realise the project vision, brief and objectives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality exhibits that engage audiences and enhance the gallery experience. This exciting role within the Exhibitions and Galleries (interpretation) team and requires experience, creativity, collaboration, excellent communication skills and excellent process management skills. Using an audience-informed approach and a strong understanding of best practice in interactive and exhibit design, you will apply your knowledge of museums, cultural attractions and visitor engagement to shape and influence exhibit development. Acting as a subject matter expert for interactive experiences, you will provide guidance and oversight to projects delivered by our in-house design, digital and technical teams, as well as by external suppliers. You will champion excellent interactive design, ensuring that all exhibits are accessible, engaging, innovative and aligned with the Museum's strategic and audience goals.

About You

For this role, you will bring significant experience delivering interactive, digital and mechanical exhibits within museums, cultural organisations or visitor attractions, alongside expertise in developing engaging visitor experiences for physical spaces. You will possess a strong understanding of interactive/exhibit design, including digital, audio-visual and electro-mechanical experiences, and be able to match appropriate solutions to audience needs and interpretive objectives. You will have knowledge of the design and delivery process, from concept development and storyboarding through software development, hardware integration and installation, together with an understanding of exhibition design documentation and drawings. Excellent communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities, think analytically and maintain a high level of attention to detail. An additional specialism in exhibition development, digital product development, design or museum practice would be advantageous.
