Job summary

The Engagement Manager role at University of Exeter focuses on developing and managing external relationships for the DBAA project. You will oversee partnerships with project partners, corporate organisations and academic institutions, coordinating researchers nationally to test DBAA initiatives across HE settings.

You will work with the DBAA project team to deliver workstreams, support communications, and help collate evidence and policy recommendations as the project enters its final phase.

About The Role
Engagement Manager, Developing Business-Aware Academics Project

This full-time post is available from 1st October 2026 till 30 June 2027. Applications for secondments will be considered subject to agreement from your current line manager.

This post is offered on a fixed term basis and is funded by the Research England Development (RED) Fund.

The starting salary will be from £ 43,482 on Grade F, depending on knowledge, skills and experience.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus (Streatham) and some from home.

The role of the Engagement Manager is to develop and manage the external relationships that ensure the success and reach of the Developing Business Aware Academics (DBAA) project.

The successful applicant will manage a portfolio of project partners, corporate organisations and academic institutions supporting the delivery of our trial to test DBAA initiatives in a variety of HE settings, and providing ways in which to connect researchers to organisations beyond academia. They will work collaboratively with academic and professional services members of the DBAA project team to deliver our workstreams, focusing on partnership management for the design and delivery of trial events, including the identification and recruitment of appropriate researchers (nationally). They will also support our broader programme of communications, collation of case studies, project events and opportunities to collate evidence and discuss policy recommendations with a broad range of stakeholders as the project enters its final phase.
