It’s a varied role with plenty of responsibility. You’ll be close to the decisions that shape the organisation, helping the CEO and senior team turn plans into action. You’ll also take the lead on key projects, keep track of progress and make sure priorities don’t lose momentum.

  • Keeping an eye on progress across several projects and making sure actions are followed through
  • Supporting change and improvement projects across the organisation
  • Preparing reports, briefings, presentations and other documents for senior leaders
  • Coordinating leadership meetings, governance activity and executive planning
  • Building good working relationships with senior leaders, governors and external partners

You’ll be organised, confident and comfortable working with senior people. You’ll also need to be someone who can juggle several priorities without losing sight of the detail.

Ideally, you'll have;
  • Experience working closely with a CEO, Principal, Executive Director or another senior leader
  • A background in executive office management, business management, governance, programme management or strategic projects
  • Experience managing complex projects involving different teams

  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • The ability to stay calm and focused when priorities change
  • Experience in Further Education, or a good understanding of the FE sector, would be a real advantage
  • A project management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM or MSP would be useful, but isn't essential
In return my client can offer;
  • £51,623 – £53,968 per year
  • 29 days annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays and circa 3 christmas closure days
  • Access to an excellent local government pension scheme (20% employer contributions)
