Job summary

Public Sector seeks a Head of Corporate Capital Projects to lead a multimillion-pound capital program in London, from planning through handover. You will ensure quality, cost control and timely delivery, coordinating internal teams and external partners including government funders.

You will drive business cases, procurement, and contract close-out while maintaining strong governance and reporting to senior leaders. The role requires strategic thinking and a focus on value for money.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering major capital projects within a regeneration or public sector setting.
• Strong knowledge of policy, legislation, and practice for large-scale capital schemes.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex urban delivery.
• Demonstrated capability to negotiate contracts and manage budgets at program level.
• Excellent reporting and governance skills for senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Deliver complex, high-value capital schemes that align with strategy.
• Lead a multidisciplinary internal and external team, set direction and build capability.
• Shape investment strategies, commission feasibility studies and costings.
• Own schemes from inception to completion, including business cases and procurement.
• Put in place controls to meet contractual and financial obligations.
• Maintain governance, monitoring and reporting to senior leaders.
• Collaborate with government and funders to maximise external funding.
• Own service and capital budgets and manage workforce costs.
• Produce annual service plans and lead performance reviews.
• Deputise for the Director and promote health, safety and equality.
