Job summary

Howden is seeking an Assistant Hospitality Manager in London to support the Head of Hospitality in delivering exceptional service across internal and executive floors. You will lead the hospitality team, coordinate events, and ensure adherence to SOPs with a professional guest experience.

You will manage rotas, onboarding, training, and performance, while assisting with VIP meetings and high-profile events, including fine dining services and menu accuracy.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a supervisory or assistant manager role within corporate hospitality, hotel, or fine dining.
• Proven ability to lead a busy team, coach colleagues and maintain high service standards.
• Strong knowledge of food & beverage service and event execution.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Hospitality with day-to-day operation of the hospitality department across all floors.
• Provide visible operational leadership and be the first point of contact for the hospitality team.
• Deputise for the Head of Hospitality during periods of absence.
• Ensure services align with SOPs and agreed service levels.
• Ensure guests receive refreshments and support for meetings across floors.
• Manage day-to-day performance and conduct of the hospitality team and address issues promptly.
• Conduct monthly team meetings and oversee team briefings and one-to-one conversations.
• Assist with staff rotas and respond to short-notice changes in requirements.
• Ensure staff are trained on customer service, uniform standards and briefings.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing development of team members.
• Oversee delivery of refreshments, breakfasts and lunches to schedule and presentation standards.
• Support executive meetings and VIP guests with discreet, professional service.
• Plan and deliver fine dining lunches/dinners and events, including last-minute requests.
• Collaborate with Reservations, Kitchen, Reception and Logistics for event setup and timings.
• Ensure allergen and dietary information is accurately presented on menus.
