Job summary

Greene King Corporate is seeking an External Communications Lead to shape and protect the company’s reputation. You will lead the corporate communications strategy, reactive press office, and external PR, working with senior leaders to ensure consistent external messaging.

You will guide crisis communications, manage agencies, and drive an integrated approach across the business, covering sustainability, performance, employer branding and community partnerships.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in corporate communications, public relations or media relations with a strong track record of delivering impactful communications strategies.
• Strong media relations expertise and experience managing high-profile press office activity.
• Proven crisis communications experience with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure and manage reputational risk effectively.
• Experience supporting complex business change programmes and communicating with a broad range of stakeholders.
• Excellent influencing, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to advise senior leaders and executives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Greene King’s corporate communications strategy across key areas including business performance, sustainability, social mobility, employer brand, community impact and charity partnerships.
• Lead and oversee our 24/7 reactive press office, ensuring robust processes, governance and responses that protect Greene King’s reputation.
• Develop and manage crisis communications strategies, providing expert advice and media handling during high-profile or sensitive situations.
• Partner with senior stakeholders, including the Executive Board and Leadership Group, to provide communications guidance and support when representing Greene King externally.
• Manage external agencies and oversee divisional PR activity, ensuring a cohesive, integrated approach to communications across the business.
