Job summary

Sanderson is hiring an Infrastructure Architect at Executive Director level in London. The role leads the target-state infrastructure strategy across cloud, data centre and end-user computing, reporting to the Head of Architecture.

You will oversee large-scale consolidation, migration and transformation within a major global bank. The position requires driving cloud adoption (AWS/Azure), governance, and collaboration with engineering, security and business leaders.

Qualifications

• Extensive infrastructure architecture experience in financial services.
• Expertise across AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of VDI technologies (Citrix, Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop).
• Strong understanding of operational resilience and disaster recovery.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible and Infrastructure as Code.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic change.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the future-state infrastructure architecture.
• Lead data centre consolidation and migration programmes.
• Drive cloud adoption across AWS and Azure environments.
• Develop cloud landing zones, hybrid connectivity, and standards.
• Lead VDI and end-user computing consolidation initiatives.
• Own operational resilience, disaster recovery and business continuity architecture.
• Drive infrastructure cost optimisation and estate rationalisation.
• Provide architecture governance and Design Authority oversight.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Security, Cloud, Network and Business leaders.
