Job summary

Scantec is recruiting an Associate Director (Cost) to lead the cost engineering and cost management function for major UK infrastructure programmes. Based at our Warrington head office, you will oversee budgets, forecasting and cost reporting while guiding a team and engaging with senior stakeholders.

You will shape cost control processes, EAC, change control and risk management across high-value projects, delivering insights to improve financial performance and project delivery.

Qualifications

• A strong background in cost engineering, cost management or project cost control.
• Experience leading a team and overseeing cost management activities.
• Experience across major infrastructure, energy, power or complex capital projects.
• Strong commercial awareness, forecasting and reporting skills.
• The confidence to engage with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the cost engineering and cost management team.
• Oversee project budgets, cost forecasting and financial reporting.
• Manage cost control, estimates at completion (EAC), change control and cost risks.
• Monitor project performance, identify cost variances and support corrective actions.
• Report cost performance and forecasts to senior management and clients.
• Work closely with planning, commercial and project delivery teams to keep projects financially on track.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and drive improvements across the cost function.
