Job summary

The Vox at NEC Group Conventions, Birmingham, is seeking an Executive Chef to lead the culinary operation. You will drive high-profile event catering, deliver exceptional food experiences, and lead a talented kitchen team across conferences, meetings, functions and events.

You'll combine culinary creativity with strong commercial and operational thinking, ensuring cost controls while maintaining top standards.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Executive Chef or senior culinary leader in high-profile events.
Strong menu planning, food preparation and kitchen management.
Experience leading diverse kitchen teams and mentoring staff.
Commercial awareness with food cost budgets and purchasing.
Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene and compliance.

Responsibilities

Lead culinary operation across conferences, meetings, functions and events.
Oversee preparation and cooking to ensure high quality and presentation.
Plan and execute catering for events meeting guest and client expectations.
Mentor and develop the kitchen team and foster a productive environment.
Manage food costs and the kitchen budget to hit commercial targets.
Oversee purchasing, stock control and waste minimisation.
Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and dietary requirements.
Collaborate with Sales and Event teams to deliver exceptional experiences.
