Job summary

Levy at NEC Birmingham is seeking a Head Chef to lead a high‑volume kitchen team, delivering exceptional food for exhibitions, conferences and events. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to bring Levy menus to life, manage production for peak days, and ensure top‑quality service and HACCP compliance.

The role requires proven Head Chef or senior culinary leadership experience, strong people management skills, and a passion for great food.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Head Chef or senior culinary leader within hospitality, events, or large-scale venues.
• Experience leading high-volume, fast-paced kitchen operations.
• Strong leadership, coaching and staff development abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring high food quality and presentation.
• Motivate, develop and manage a diverse kitchen brigade.
• Deliver exceptional food across exhibitions, conferences, and live events.
• Collaborate with Executive Chef to implement Levy menus and concepts.
• Plan food production to meet high-volume event demands.
• Maintain HACCP and food safety standards.
• Oversee food cost, waste, stock and labour control.
