Job summary

What the job involves

• Ensure the fair and proper conduct of examinations
• Support the Data and Exam Manager with the day-to-day operation of exam venues
• Set up venues, laying out stationery, equipment and papers to strict procedures
• Enforce exam procedures and regulations at all times
• Direct pupils to seats and advise on permitted possessions before the exam starts
• Invigilate, dealing with pupil queries and exam irregularities, and keep pupils from talking
• Check attendance during exams
• Record late arrivals and early leavers and collect their papers
• Escort pupils from venues and on toilet breaks, and supervise them outside venues, ensuring no unauthorised material is consulted
• Collect and deliver all papers at the end of the exam to strict procedures
• Supervise pupils leaving venues, preventing removal of equipment or stationery and ensuring an orderly exit
• Supervise pupils during exam timetable clashes
