Job summary

Newstead Wood School is seeking an exam invigilator to support the Data and Exam Manager in running examination venues in Greater London. You will help set up rooms, seat pupils, and monitor activity to ensure fair conduct and adherence to rules.

During exams, you will address pupil queries, supervise movement, check attendance, and collect papers with strict procedures to guarantee a quiet, orderly environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setting up exam venues by laying out stationery, equipment and exam papers in accordance with strict procedures.
• Closely follow and enforce exam procedures and regulations.
• Assist pupils before the exam starts by directing them to their seats and advising them about possessions permitted in the venue.
• Ensure that pupils do not talk once inside the exam venue.
• Invigilate during exams, dealing with queries and exam irregularities in accordance with procedures.
• Check attendance during exams.
• Record details of late arrivals and early leavers and collect their paper.
• Escort pupils from venues during the exam and supervise outside the venue.
• Escort pupils on toilet breaks to ensure no unauthorised material is consulted and that exam regulations are observed.
• Collect and deliver all papers at the end of the exam in accordance with strict procedures.
• Supervise pupils leaving exam venues, ensuring that no-one removes equipment or stationery from the venue without authorisation.
• Ensure that candidates leave the venue in a quiet and orderly manner.
• Supervise pupils when clashes occur in their exam timetable.
