Qualifications

• Previous experience working as an Exams Officer or Exams Administrator, ideally within a secondary school.
• Strong knowledge of JCQ regulations, examination procedures and awarding body requirements
• Experience coordinating GCSE and other external examinations
• Excellent organisational skills with a conscientious and methodical approach
• Confident managing examination entries, timetables, results and deadlines
• Experience using school MIS such as SIMS, Arbor or Bromcom
• Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A confident relationship builder who can work effectively with students, staff and external examination bodies
• Able to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Calm, professional and confident working under pressure, particularly during busy examination periods
• A clear understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection
• Proactive, reliable and able to work cooperatively with teaching staff and senior leaders

Responsibilities

• Managing and coordinating the administration of internal and external examinations, including GCSEs and other relevant qualifications
• Ensuring all examinations are conducted in accordance with JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements
• Organising examination timetables, entries, amendments and withdrawals
• Liaising with examination boards, teaching staff, senior leaders and external agencies
• Managing the secure receipt, storage and distribution of examination papers and materials
• Recruiting, training, scheduling and supervising examination invigilators
• Coordinating examination rooms, seating plans and examination arrangements
• Working closely with the SENCO to ensure appropriate access arrangements and reasonable adjustments are implemented
• Maintaining accurate examination records and updating school MIS
• Managing examination results, certificates and post-results services, including reviews of marking and appeals
• Supporting students, parents and staff with examination queries
• Ensuring examination deadlines are met and all procedures are followed accurately
