Job summary

Lift Clacton is seeking an exam invigilator to support calm, fair and well‑organised exam experiences for students. You will work closely with the exams officer to ensure each exam runs smoothly, help set up rooms, supervise candidates and ensure JCQ regulations are followed at all times.

Qualifications

Good literacy skills and GCSE maths/English (grade 4) or equivalent.
Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle unexpected situations professionally.
Clear, confident communication when giving instructions to groups.
Team player who builds trusted relationships with colleagues and students.
Shows initiative and follows schedules to meet deadlines.
Genuine commitment to safeguarding and supporting young people.

Responsibilities

Set up exam rooms according to seating plans and ensure readiness before students arrive.
Check identity, verify attendance, and distribute exam papers and materials.
Supervise students during exams and enforce JCQ regulations at all times.
Address questions, disruptions, or emergencies per school policies.
Collect papers at end of exams and return them to the exams officer.
Support orderly student egress and restore the venue afterward.
