Job summary

West Somerset College is seeking Exam Invigilators to support students during examinations. The role requires reliability, professionalism and strong organisational skills to ensure fair, secure exams in accordance with JCQ regulations.

Ideal candidates will be calm, attentive, and able to follow procedures accurately, contributing to a positive school environment while assisting in the smooth running of exam sessions.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and accuracy in following procedures.
• Strong communication to support students and staff.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during exams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination venues and equipment in line with examination regulations.
• Supervise students before, during and after examinations.
• Maintain strict examination conditions and ensure compliance with JCQ guidelines.
• Register candidates and monitor attendance.
• Provide clear instructions and support to candidates throughout the examination process.
• Accurately collect and return examination papers and scripts.
• Report any irregularities, concerns or incidents to the Exams Officer.
• Support invigilation of smaller groups of students, including those requiring access arrangements where appropriate.
• Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, equality, diversity and inclusion standards at all times.
