Job summary

Bethany School is seeking enthusiastic Exam Invigilators, Readers and Scribes to join our examinations team. The role is part-time, flexible and term-time only, with training provided and opportunities during mock and main examination periods.

You will invigilate examinations, support candidates with approved access arrangements as needed, and help ensure examinations run smoothly, fairly and in a calm, supportive environment for pupils.

• Possesses strong IT skills and confidence using word processing software.
• Has clear and legible handwriting.
• Is reliable, flexible and able to remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Invigilating internal and external examinations in accordance with examination regulations.
• Assisting with examination room preparation and set-up.
• Supporting candidates through approved access arrangements.
• Reading examination papers and questions accurately when acting as a reader.
• Recording candidates’ dictated responses accurately when acting as a scribe.
• Supervising pupils during rest breaks and ensuring examination conditions are maintained.
• Providing a calm, professional and positive environment for pupil.

Bethany is a vibrant and forward-thinking co-ed independent day and boarding School, for 11 – 18 year olds.

As part of our examinations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring examinations run smoothly and fairly. You will support pupils by invigilating examinations and, where required, providing approved access arrangements, including acting as a reader or scribe.
