Job summary

St Cuthbert’s Catholic High School in Newcastle upon Tyne is recruiting Examination Invigilators to support exams during the academic year. This casual, flexible role plays a vital part in delivering calm, fair, and supportive exam conditions for pupils.

St Cuthbert's Catholic High School is seeking to recruit additional Examination Invigilators to join our friendly team during examination periods throughout the academic year.

While this is a casual and flexible role, it is one of real importance. Our invigilators play a vital part in ensuring that every pupil and student has the opportunity to demonstrate his knowledge and abilities in a calm, fair, and supportive environment. Examinations are key milestones that help shape the boys’ future education, career, and life opportunities.

We are looking for reliable, organised and approachable individuals who would like to make a positive contribution to our school community. Previous experience working with children or young people would be beneficial, although it is not essential. Experience as an Examination Invigilator is also not required, as full training will be provided.

The Role:

Working alongside our Examinations Officer, you will help ensure that examinations run smoothly and in accordance with examination regulations, supporting pupils/students at an important stage of their educational journey.

Duties include:

• preparing examination venues and distributing examination papers and equipment
• supervising students before, during and after examinations
• ensuring examination regulations and procedures are followed
• maintaining the security and confidentiality of examination materials
• helping to create an atmosphere that is calm, professional and supportive
