Job summary

United Learning is seeking an exam invigilator to uphold the integrity of internal and external examinations and to assist with the conduct of exams in line with JCQ, awarding body and school instructions. The role supports the exams officer and helps ensure smooth exam operations across sessions.

The position involves pre-exam briefing, securing papers, supervising candidates, handling queries, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Report to and be briefed by the exams officer prior to each exam session.
• Keep confidential exam papers and materials secure before, during and after exams.
• Ensure exam rooms are set out according to the instructions.
• Admit candidates into exam rooms.
• Identify, seat and instruct candidates in the conduct of their exams.
• Distribute the correct exam papers and materials to candidates.
• Deal with candidate queries.
• Supervise and observe candidates at all times and remain vigilant.
• Keep disruption in exam rooms to a minimum.
• Record/report incidents, disruptions, or irregularities.
• Complete attendance registers.
• Deal with candidate questions according to the regulations.
• Attend training and update sessions as required.
• Undertake other duties requested by the exams officer.
• Supervision of clash candidates between exam sessions.
• Facilitating access arrangements for candidates (reader, scribe) with full training.
• Other exams-related administrative tasks.
