Job summary

Cirencester Deer Park School is seeking Exam Invigilators to join the team on a casual basis during the school year, supervising students during public and internal exams. Availability is required during May–June, early-mid December and early March, with other exam events throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Set up venues with stationery, equipment and papers per procedures.
• Direct candidates to seats and advise on possessions allowed in venue.
• Ensure silence and order inside examination venues.
• Check attendance against seating plans.
• Record late arrivals and early leavers; collect scripts.
• Collect mobile phones and secure materials.
• Invigilate exams and handle candidate queries and irregularities.
• Escort candidates during and after exams as required.
• Collect and collate scripts at the end of examinations.

Job description

We are seeking to employ Exam Invigilators to join Cirencester Deer Park School. You will be employed on a casual basis as and when required during the school year to supervise students taking public and internal exams.

Key exam periods when availability will be expected includes dates throughout May-June, early-mid December and early March. There will also be other events that require invigilators throughout the year.

The Role

The role of invigilator is to provide support to the examination process, reporting to the Examinations Manager.

Main Duties

To support the Exams Staff with the day-to-day operation of examination venues, including:

• Assisting with setting-up venues, laying out stationery, equipment and examination papers in accordance with strict procedures
• Assisting candidates prior to the start of the examinations by directing them to seats and advising about possessions permitted in examination venue.
• Ensuring candidates do not talk once inside examination venue.
• Checking attendance during examination in accordance with the seating plans
• Recording details of late arrivals and early leavers and collecting scripts from early leavers
• Collection of mobile phones
• Invigilating during examinations, dealing with queries raised by candidates and dealing with examination irregularities in accordance with strict procedures
• Escorting candidates from venues during the examinations as required, and supervising candidates whilst outside examination venues
• Collecting and collating scripts at the end of the examination in accordance with strict procedures
