Job summary

The Dorcan Academy in Swindon invites applications for casual Invigilators to assist our Examination Officer with running and supervising internal and external examinations.

No prior experience is required as full training will be provided; hours vary according to timetables, with exams often starting at 9.00am or 1.30pm, and invigilators are asked to arrive 30 minutes early to set up rooms. We are an inclusive school with high expectations of staff and students.

Qualifications

• Punctual and reliable, able to work as part of a team.
• Good communication with staff and students.
• Willing to follow instructions and maintain exam security.

Responsibilities

• Support Assessment Officers in supervising exams.
• Assist with room setup and distribution of papers.
• Monitor exam conditions and ensure proper conduct.

We are looking for responsible individuals who can be relied upon to be punctual, professional and promote a supportive atmosphere for students to achieve their best. Being able to communicate and work well in a team is essential. Days of work vary according to the examination timetables and although exams take place throughout the school year they are concentrated during the months of November, January, March, May and June. Prior notice of the specific dates required is given in advance.

This is a casual post, is flexible around your availability and does not involve regular commitment. The working hours will vary but exams generally start at either 9.00am or 1.30pm and you will be expected to arrive 30 minutes before to help set up the rooms. No experience is necessary as we will provide full training.
