Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Systems Design Authority (Delivery) to lead the technical delivery of EW Payload capabilities, shaping solutions from concept through implementation. You will collaborate with customers, engineering teams and senior stakeholders in a high-visibility role, balancing performance, cost, schedule and risk.

The role offers a hybrid pattern with on-site at Luton and UK/international travel.

Qualifications

• Extensive systems engineering background with defence/aerospace experience.
• Ability to engage with customers and senior stakeholders, providing clear technical direction.
• Experience across Requirements Management, Verification, Qualification, Acceptance, Design Certification and Customer Acceptance.
• Familiarity with Design Standards and Configuration Management.
• Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical solution for EW Payload programmes, ensuring customer requirements are translated into deliverable solutions.
• Develop CONOPS/CONUSE and translate operational needs into system requirements with engineering teams.
• Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams guiding key decisions on performance, cost, schedule, quality, and risk.
• Lead identification, assessment and management of technical risks and opportunities.
• Shape future product strategy and capability roadmaps; review bids and proposals for alignment with objectives.
• Mentor engineers to foster a collaborative, high-quality delivery culture.
