Job summary

Willowbrook School in District 30 is seeking a dedicatedLong-Term Everyday Substitute Teacher to provide continuous instruction when teachers are absent. The role covers all grade levels and subjects, reporting to the Building Principal and working on school days throughout the 2026-27 year.

Responsibilities include implementing lesson plans, delivering differentiated instruction, and maintaining a positive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Substitute Teaching License or Professional Educator License (Region 05 North Cook ISC).
• Ability to implement lesson plans and adapt instruction to meet students' needs.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain standards of student behavior.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Flexibility in accepting assignments across grade levels and subject areas.
• Reliable daily attendance and the ability to work cooperatively with school personnel in a positive manner.

Responsibilities

• Implement the absent teacher's lesson plans and translate them into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Provide individualized and small-group instruction to meet students' needs.
• Create and maintain a positive, well-managed classroom where every child can learn.
• Supervise students in the classroom, throughout the building, and on school grounds.
• Leave detailed notes for the returning teacher about the day's activities, student behavior, and any incidents.
• Work cooperatively with Willowbrook staff and maintain the confidentiality of student information.
• Follow Board policies, district procedures, and school emergency protocols.
