Job summary

Carlisle Support Services is hiring for an Events team to support world‑class events across major venues. The role offers casual, event‑based work with 4–8 hour shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends. Candidates should be 18+, reliable and professional, with training provided.

Pay is £13.45 per hour; opportunities to work across multiple Carlisle venues are available. Successful applicants will undergo screening and vetting; documentation is required.

Qualifications

• Customer-facing service experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow venue safety procedures.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible with shifts.
• Willingness to obtain Level 2 Spectator Safety certification (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and direct customers as a first point of contact.

• Monitor and manage crowds to ensure safe entry and exit.

Job description

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and dedicated individuals to join our Events team, supporting the delivery of world-class events across this renowned waterfront destination. From major conferences and exhibitions to concerts, live entertainment and sporting events, you'll play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming and memorable experience for visitors., Hours: Casual, event-based work. Shifts are a minimum of 4 hours, with most events typically ranging between 6-8 hours. A variety of morning, afternoon, evening and late-night shifts are available depending on event requirements. Candidates must be available to work Monday 28 September and Tuesday 29 September. Beyond these dates, work is offered on a fully casual and ad hoc basis, allowing team members to choose from available shifts throughout the year based on their own availability and our event schedule. This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible work that can fit around studies, existing employment or other commitments.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Providing guidance, information and directing customers as a first point of contact
• Delivering an excellent level of venue knowledge and customer service
• Managing and following safety and security processes and procedures
• Monitoring and controlling crowds
• Preventing unlawful entry into venues
• Ensuring safe entry and exit of customers
• Checking tickets and accreditation

• At least 18 years old (required to work in a licensed environment)
• Reliable, punctual, flexible and smart in appearance
• Friendly, approachable and always professional
• Enthusiastic and motivated to do a great job
• Previous experience in events, hospitality, retail or customer service is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided
• Able to interact with clients and customers in a positive manner
• Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety, or willingness to obtain the qualification (desirable)
• Willing to work at other Carlisle Events venues across the region (desirable)
• Pay: £13.45 per hour

Successful candidates will need to provide original documentation for detailed screening and vetting processes. This could include a passport, driving licence, utility bill dated within the last 3 months, HMRC letter, original bank statement, original payslip, birth certificate or a valid share code.
