Job description

My client is one of the UK's most respected law firms, recognised for the quality of its work, long-standing client relationships and collaborative culture. Its events programme is a visible and valued part of the firm's business development strategy, creating opportunities for meaningful engagement with clients, intermediaries and key market contacts across a broad range of sectors and practice areas.

An opportunity has arisen for an Events Manager to join the firm's established events team, reporting directly to the Head of Events. This is a role that offers genuine breadth, visibility and influence within the business. Working closely with partners, business development teams and senior leadership, the successful candidate will take ownership of a varied programme of events while helping stakeholders make informed decisions about how event activity supports relationship development and commercial objectives.

Unlike larger organisations where event responsibilities can become highly segmented, this role provides exposure across the full spectrum of activity. The successful candidate will work across multiple practice groups, manage a diverse range of event formats and build relationships with stakeholders throughout the firm. It is well suited to someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable balancing competing priorities without losing sight of quality or attention to detail.

The role combines autonomy with support and offers the opportunity to become a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders rather than simply delivering requests. From client dinners and roundtables through to conferences, receptions and international industry events, this is a position where no two weeks look quite the same.

Whilst there is scope to mentor and support junior members of the team, this remains a genuinely hands-on events role. The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys being close to delivery, takes pride in execution and wants to continue building expertise across the full event lifecycle.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of a broad programme of client, intermediary and internal events
  • Manage a wide range of event formats including conferences, receptions, roundtables, hospitality events and networking programmes
  • Partner with lawyers, business development professionals and senior stakeholders to develop impactful event activity
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on venues, suppliers, event formats and delivery approaches
  • Manage budgets and external supplier relationships
  • Oversee event delivery from planning through to onsite execution and post-event evaluation
  • Support and mentor junior members of the team
  • Identify opportunities to enhance programmes, improve processes and maximise the value of event activity
About you
  • Experience delivering events within professional services, corporate or partnership-led environments
  • Strong end-to-end event management experience across a variety of event formats
  • Confident working directly with senior stakeholders and managing competing priorities
  • Commercially aware, with experience managing budgets and external suppliers
  • Strong knowledge of the London events market, including venues, hospitality providers and event partners
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities can shift quickly
  • A collaborative and hands-on approach with a genuine passion for event delivery
  • Direct exposure to partners, senior leadership and key decision-makers across the business
  • Opportunity to influence event planning and contribute to wider discussions around programme development
  • A varied role spanning multiple practice groups, sectors and event formats
  • Approximately 160 events delivered annually, providing genuine breadth and variety
  • Supportive and collaborative team culture within a highly respected firm
  • Hybrid working with 3 days per week in the office
  • Flexible approach to TOIL, with genuine encouragement to take time back following busy periods
  • A role offering autonomy, visibility and long-term development within a leading professional services environment
