Description du poste

Are you an experienced events professional looking to take ownership of a portfolio of high-profile B2B events, working across the UK and EMEA? This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected international trade Association (financial sector), where you can combine hands-on event delivery with stakeholder management, commercial awareness and the opportunity to shape the future of its events portfolio.

The Organisation
Our client is an established and influential membership organisation operating at the heart of the financial sector, representing more c. 900 members across banking, asset management, legal services and related industries. The organisation supports their members and sector through developing and providing industry guidance, training, thought leadership and a programme of events that bring key market participants together.

With a collaborative culture and a relatively small team, the organisation offers an environment where individuals can take ownership, build strong relationships across the business and make a tangible contribution to its continued growth.

The Role
Reporting to the Head of Events, the Senior Event Manager will take the lead on the end-to-end planning and delivery of a portfolio of conferences, seminars and networking events across EMEA. Joining a six-person events team that delivers around 20 events annually, you will have ownership of approximately five to six key events, including large-scale conferences with several hundred delegates.

This is a hands-on, project-led role, requiring excellent event logistical expertise, strong stakeholder management and the ability to oversee every aspect of event delivery, from initial planning through to onsite execution and post-event evaluation.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Taking full ownership of allocated events, managing timelines, logistics and delivery from conception through to completion.
  • Sourcing and negotiating with UK and international venues, coordinating contracts and managing suppliers across AV, production, staging, catering and other event requirements.
  • Overseeing delegate registration, CRM administration, speaker liaison and the smooth running of events onsite.
  • Working closely with internal teams, including Sponsorship, Marketing and Communications, as well as senior stakeholders, to ensure events are aligned with organisational objectives and delivered to a high standard.
  • Managing sponsor relationships and ensuring all contracted sponsorship and exhibition deliverables are fulfilled, including branding, exhibition space (when relevant), digital visibility and speaking opportunities.
  • Developing and monitoring event budgets, managing supplier costs and financial reconciliation, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Supporting event marketing and promotional activity to maximise visibility, engagement and attendance.
  • Reviewing event performance, gathering feedback and identifying opportunities to develop the portfolio and improve results year on year.
  • Contributing to best practice across the team, supporting junior colleagues and helping to refine processes, templates and operational standards.

You will act as the lead project manager for your events, bringing together multiple teams and stakeholders to ensure every element is coordinated effectively. This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership, influence how events are delivered and contribute to the commercial success and ongoing development of a growing portfolio.

The Candidate
We are looking for an experienced Event Manager or Senior Event Manager with a strong track record of delivering end-to-end corporate B2B events. You will be confident managing complex logistics and multiple stakeholders, with the organisational skills and commercial awareness to deliver high-quality events in a fast-paced environment.

Ideally, you will have an in-house background within a professional body, corporate or commercial environment. Experience working for a membership organisation or within financial services would be advantageous.

You will bring:

  • Strong event management experience: A proven track record of delivering large-scale conferences, seminars and networking events, with the ability to take ownership and lead projects independently.
  • Exceptional logistical skills: Highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing the multiple moving parts of events, suppliers, budgets and deadlines.
  • Excellent stakeholder management: Confident building relationships and working collaboratively with internal teams, senior stakeholders, speakers, sponsors and external suppliers.
  • Commercial awareness: An understanding of sponsor fulfilment, event budgets and the importance of delivering events that support wider business objectives.
  • A strategic mindset: Able to look beyond delivery, evaluate event performance and identify opportunities for improvement, growth and continued development.
  • A proactive approach: A quick learner who is happy to roll up their sleeves, get involved and make an immediate contribution.
  • Strong communication and teamwork: Professional, flexible and confident in leading projects while working as part of a collaborative team.

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or CrowdComms would be beneficial, although not essential.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a hugely respected international organisation at an exciting point in its development. You will have the autonomy to lead your own events, work closely with senior stakeholders and contribute to the evolution of a varied, commercially focused events programme, all within a supportive and high-performing team.
