Job description

Events Manager

Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 per annum depending on experience

Contract: 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract

Location & Working Pattern 35 hours per week: Predominantly home-based, with travel across England and Wales to support conferences, awards, meetings and events. Occasional travel to London and Stockport offices will also be required. Flexibility to travel is essential.

Lead a national events programme that makes a real impact.

Our client is the national membership organisation representing Local Authority Building Control teams across England and Wales. Through a diverse programme of conferences, awards ceremonies, professional training, webinars and national recruitment assessment centres, they bring together professionals from across the sector to share knowledge, celebrate success and support the future of building control.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Events Manager to join the team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is more than an events delivery role. It's an opportunity to lead a nationally recognised events programme, manage a talented team and work closely with senior leaders to continually enhance the quality and impact of events.

The Role

You'll take ownership of planning and delivering a varied programme of events from concept through to completion, ensuring every event is delivered to the highest professional standard.

Working closely with colleagues across the business, you'll lead a small team of Event Coordinators, manage suppliers, venues, budgets and logistics, while building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and external partners.

No two weeks are the same. From flagship conferences and prestigious awards ceremonies to webinars, professional training and recruitment assessment centres, you'll play a key role in delivering events that make a genuine difference to members and the wider profession.

About You

You'll be an experienced Events Manager with a proven track record of delivering a diverse programme of professional events and leading people successfully.

You'll also bring:

  • Previous line management experience.
  • Experience delivering conferences, awards ceremonies, webinars or large-scale professional events.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Experience managing suppliers, venues, contracts and event budgets.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Just as importantly, you'll be someone who:

  • Brings ideas and enjoys finding solutions.
  • Builds credibility with senior stakeholders.
  • Takes ownership and leads with confidence.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adapts quickly when priorities change.
  • Enjoys working collaboratively and supporting others to succeed.

We welcome applications from experienced Events Managers from a wide range of sectors, including membership organisations, professional bodies, higher education, charities, commercial events, event agencies and the public sector. The breadth and complexity of your events experience is more important than the sector you've worked in.

Why Join ?

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative national organisation where you'll have genuine ownership of your work and the opportunity to influence how a nationally recognised events programme is delivered.

The role offers a predominantly home-based working pattern, balanced with travel to meetings and events across England and Wales. If you're looking for variety, autonomy and the opportunity to make a visible impact, this could be your next career move
