What are we looking for?
We are looking for a proactive and highly organised events professional to work in our London marketing team. This role focuses on developing innovative, high-quality events that enhance our firm's reputation, engage clients and intermediaries, and support business development initiatives – and is a vital part of our marketing and business development strategy.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a range of events for the firm. They will be a confident and able to quickly build strong relationships with lawyers, marketing and business development colleagues and our facilities teams.
We are looking for somebody who is comfortable providing feedback on the viability of certain events, willing to get involved in pre-event planning, coordinating activities on the day and working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure follow up is executed afterwards. The majority of our events are hosted internally although travel will be required, on occasion, to support off-site activities.
The role offers the opportunity for somebody to put their own stamp on how we manage our UK events programme. We are looking for somebody who is a motivated self-starter, who will be able to create unique, branded event experiences, which will appeal to and engage the firm's target audiences.
What teams does this role support?
The role will support larger and more complex events across our three divisions (Business, Dispute Resolution and Private Client & Tax) and sector specialisms, as well certain centrally organised activities.
Areas Of Focus And Responsibilities
- Playing a lead role in organising and executing a wide variety of events, end-to-end, ensuring smooth delivery. This includes webinars, industry seminars (client and intermediary), networking sessions and some larger conferences.
- Acting as a business advisor in relation to events, recommending best practice and communicating formats and timings that are most likely to get traction.
- Executing event administration, including creating invitations, managing lists in our database and handling registrations.
- Managing relationships with key stakeholders and sponsors, both internal (lawyers, catering, IT and facilities) and external.
- Overseeing event logistics, including catering, AV and registrations, and provide hands-on support to ensure that everything runs smoothly on the day.
- Maintaining and analysing event expenditure, ensuring they keep to budget.
- Identifying and contracting external venues and providers for certain events, where appropriate, maintaining oversight of quality control and ensuring seamless execution.
- Liaising with the central marketing team to produce branded materials and other collateral.
- Analysing the success of events and communicating findings back to key stakeholders for continuous improvement.
Technical Skills And Experience
- Prior event management experience, ideally in a professional services environment.
- First class written and verbal communication skills, including ability to autonomously and intuitively prepare event materials (invites, adverts, banners and other collateral).
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience working with databases and marketing lists.
- Project management experience, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- An understanding of experiential approaches that can be used to augment the event experience.
- Ability to manage budgets and negotiate with suppliers.

The Essentials
- 9.30am to 5.30pm, but flexibility is a must (including a willingness to travel and oversee events outside of regular office hours)
- Hybrid working policy with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. Flexibility will be needed based on the events calendar
- 12 week probation period
- 4 week notice period
