Job description

We are a registered charity working to improve opportunities and outcomes for children, young people, adults, families and communities through education and training, health and wellbeing, poverty relief and community development.

Through our programmes, activities and partnerships, we support people to build skills and confidence, access opportunities and participate more fully in their communities.

Role Description

We are looking for an experienced events coordinator to help plan, deliver and develop our programme of community, fundraising and partnership events and activities.

This is a varied, hands‑on role with involvement at every stage, from initial planning and coordination through to delivery and evaluation. You will work closely with colleagues, volunteers and external partners to ensure events and activities are well organised, inclusive and engaging.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute ideas and help develop new events and activities that respond to community needs, strengthen our partnerships and support the wider aims of Cede Foundation.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Plan and coordinate the delivery of our programme of events and activities, maintaining the forward calendar and preparing event plans, timelines, run sheets and checklists.
  • Help develop event themes, programmes and new activities that respond to community needs, encourage participation and support organisational priorities.
  • Arrange venues, suppliers, equipment, catering, transport, speakers and other practical and logistical requirements.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with schools, community groups, funders, partners, suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • Manage bookings, registrations, and attendee communications, and provide accurate, timely information to support event promotion across the website, social media, email, and other channels.
  • Identify staffing and volunteer requirements and ensure that roles, responsibilities, timings, and event‑day arrangements are clearly communicated.
  • Prepare and monitor event budgets, obtain quotations, track expenditure and income where applicable, and ensure resources are used effectively.
  • Coordinate appropriate arrangements for risk assessment, safeguarding, health and safety, accessibility, consent and data protection, in line with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Oversee event‑day delivery, including set‑up, registrations, staff and volunteers, suppliers and timings, and resolving practical issues as they arise.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and feedback records, complete post‑event evaluations and use learning and feedback to improve future events and activities.
Qualifications
  • Experience of planning, coordinating and delivering events or activities from preparation through to completion, including logistics, timelines, resources and on‑the‑day delivery.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and practical arrangements with good attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to work effectively with participants, partners, suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • A participant‑focused approach, with the ability to create welcoming, inclusive and well‑organised event experiences for people from a range of backgrounds.
  • Experience of event administration, including bookings, budgets, expenditure, record‑keeping and the use of standard office or event‑management systems.
  • A good understanding of safe and inclusive event delivery, including risk assessment, health and safety, safeguarding and accessibility.
  • Ability to respond effectively to changing circumstances, use initiative and resolve practical problems during event planning and delivery.
  • Ability to support event promotion and outreach, encouraging participation and helping to build relationships with communities and partner organisations.

We welcome relevant experience gained through paid employment, volunteering, or a combination of both.

  • Experience of working in a community, charity, educational or other purpose‑led organisation.
  • Experience supporting fundraising, income‑generating or community engagement events.
  • Experience using event booking, registration, CRM or similar systems.
  • Experience creating or coordinating event communications, promotional content or outreach activity.
  • Knowledge of Manchester communities, organisations or local networks.
  • Experience working with children, young people, families or diverse community groups.
  • A relevant qualification in event management, communications, marketing or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

The role will involve attending events and activities at different venues. Some evening and weekend work, as well as travel, may be required depending on the programme. This will be planned in advance wherever possible.

What We Offer
  • £13.50–£15.00 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • A varied role across a wide range of events and activities.
  • Training and development opportunities to support your growth.
