Job summary

Gloucester City Council, via Gloucester Guildhall, is seeking two part-time Events Assistants to join the team for 18.5 hours per week.

You will support a vibrant programme of live music, comedy, film, and immersive experiences, handling event set-ups, deliveries and venue resets under the Operations Supervisors, on a monthly rota including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Health and safety duties include fire warden and first aid; Evac Chair Operator training is a condition of appointment.

Qualifications

  • Experience as an Events Assistant or a passion for arts and culture.
  • Ability to think on your feet and stay calm under pressure.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and fire warden responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with event set-ups and event delivery as part of the Operations Team.
  • Carry out venue resets in line with the event schedule.
  • Ensure a high standard of customer service from entry to departure.
  • Support health and safety duties and participate in required training.

About The Role…

Gloucester Guildhall are looking for two part time Events Assistants to join the team for 18.5 hours per week!

Are you an experienced Events Assistant or have a genuine passion for arts and culture? If so, there’s never been a more exciting time to join the Guildhall team!

As an Events Assistant, you will be at the heart of our dynamic cultural programme, which features a mix of live music, comedy, film, dance, circus, and immersive experiences. You will form a key part of our Operations Team working collaboratively to ensure the seamless execution of all aspects of our events.

What We Need From You…

As an Events Assistant you will possess strong interpersonal skills, helping you to offer a lasting, memorable experience to all our artists and customers from the moment they walk through our doors and to the moment they depart.

Working as part of a dynamic team, you will assist with event set‑ups and event delivery and carry out venue resets in line with the event schedule, under the guidance of the Operations Supervisors. You will have the ability to think on the spot and remain calm under pressure, understanding that events can be variable and making the customer needs a priority.

You will maintain a strong awareness of health and safety procedures and will undertake duties include fire warden and first aid. Successful completion of Evac Chair Operator training will be a condition of appointment, this will be tested early within the probation period.

Gloucester Guildhall is open weekdays, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. The successful applicant will work to a monthly rota, which will include a mixture of these shifts.
