About the Role

We are a dynamic local authority providing essential services to the people of Gloucester. Our main office, based in the Eastgate Centre on Eastgate Street in the heart of the city, is an accessible, modern and light space designed for collaborative working and finding new ways to work. It's all open plan, with a living green wall and other plants without set desks, so you can sit next to someone new every day. We're always looking to improve how we work and we offer flexible and agile working to give our people a great work life balance.

We are looking for an outstanding individual with vast experience in enforcement and regulation to lead this dynamic and high‑profile service through its exciting development. Having recently brought Private Sector Housing, Envirocrime and Planning Enforcement into one team, the Council is keen to continue the success we have seen in working holistically across a range of regulatory services.

As a key area of focus in our Council plan, this is an excellent opportunity to lead, develop your team and deliver positive outcomes for the public.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be dynamic and proactive, and have an excellent grip on legislation, as well as being a team player who can develop the team and grow the positive impact the service can have.
