Events and Communications Manager

Location: Manchester

Hybrid: 2 days in the office per week

Fixed Term: 15-month fixed contract. To start ASAP

We’re seeking an experienced Events & Communications Manager to lead external corporate events for our client. The role supports business development, focusing on brand awareness and reputation.

The ideal candidate will have strong events management skills, including project coordination, logistics, content development, and collateral creation.

Event Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver the monthly events program.
  • Manage event logistics like venue bookings, marketing materials, invoicing, and packing lists for sector-specific exhibitions.
  • Organize internal engagement events, sourcing and confirming venues.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for Business Development events.
  • Serve as the main contact for event-related inquiries.
  • Support event delivery with on-the-day coordination.
  • Evaluate event performance and gather feedback for improvements.
  • Collaborate on the external events calendar.
  • Manage event documentation from concept to review.
  • Oversee hiring of event personnel when needed.
  • Monitor and assess event success, hosting debriefs and gathering feedback.
Communications Responsibilities
  • Lead communication and marketing strategies for events and projects.
  • Manage event promotion, RSVPs, social media collaboration, and personalized invites.
  • Develop sponsorship opportunities and secure sponsors.
  • Coordinate messaging with internal teams.
  • Create marketing strategies with PR & Comms team.
  • Develop internal communication plans with the People Team.
Essential Requirements and Skills
  • At least 3 years’ experience in event management and communications planning.
  • Strong logistical and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
Desirable Requirements and Skills
  • Experience in B2B marketing and engagement strategies.
  • Leadership experience managing teams or direct reports.
  • Proficiency with Zoom Webinar, Salesforce, Canva, and agency experience.
